This Was Not in the Job Description (But Here We Are)
I’m Savannah Bartell. By day, I’m a content strategist and digital marketer. By night, I’m one year into the most exhilarating, sleep-deprived role of my life: Chief Parenting Officer to my son, “W.”
The New Parent Playbook is my Q1 survival guide to parenthood—your go-to cheat sheet for those first 90 days (and all the plot twists they bring).
When W arrived in June 2024, I realized that while I’d ticked off every item on my baby shower registry, I was ill-prepared for my new position as Mom. How do I actually use that breast pump? After holding the flanges and milk spilling everywhere in my sleep deprived state, why didn’t anyone tell me I needed to buy a pumping bra?!
Since research is my default setting, every time I hit a roadblock, found myself bleary-eyed in Reddit rabbit holes and doom-scrolling social feeds for tips at 2 a.m. All the while, I kept asking myself, “Why isn’t someone just packaging all of this into one giant cheat sheet for newborn survival?!”
Spoiler: I am attempting to fill that void.
Now, I’m building the resource I so badly needed when I didn’t understand that there are actually different sized bottle nipples that flow at different rates. The New Parent Playbook is professional-grade, zero-fluff, and sprinkled with enough humor to make 3 a.m. feedings feel slightly less surreal.

Drop a note. Or a diaper tip.
Whether you’ve got feedback on a play, or just need to vent about your fourth nap attempt today—I’m all ears (and probably reheating my coffee for the third time).
