Resist the Temptation of Adorable Outfits
Those impossibly cute little outfits calling your name from the baby section? Leave them there. Or if you absolutely must, buy with serious intention—like for a family photo shoot or special occasions, and wait until after your baby is born to see what actually suits them.
The truth is, comfort > fashion. At home, it's footie pajamas and onesies. Every time I've dressed my baby in something "nice," he's been fussier, and as soon as he's back in simple clothes, he settles right down.
As one parent shared: "I have TONS of cute outfits we got as gifts. They are so damn cute, it's such a shame they really don't get worn, but it's just not worth it unless you're going out."
Hands down, the item that W wore the most in the early weeks were the basic white kimono shirts with two snaps that we got from the hospital. We didn’t have to pull anything over his head, it didn’t rub on his umbilical cord and being a summer baby, it was too hot for pants anyway. A win.
